FUNDED PROGRAMS

The Hope Truck is supporting a range of youth-focused, culturally grounded initiatives across the region. Chetwynd is creating an accessible Track & Field space with free equipment and a culturally reflective firepit. West Moberly is launching a Youth Food Security & Cooking Program to strengthen nutrition, skills, and independence. Saulteau is developing a youth music program that builds confidence, creativity, and cultural connection. Tumbler Ridge is advancing two youth-led projects, Indigenous trail signage and a community storytelling video series, both designed to celebrate local identity and amplify youth voices. Together, these initiatives show how Hope Truck funding is inspiring meaningful, community-led impact.

Youth Food Security & Cooking Program

West Moberly First Nations will use Hope Truck funds for a Youth Food Security Initiative that expands access to nutritious school lunches to address high food costs in northern communities.

Signage Project

This project brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth with cultural knowledge holders to design Indigenous-themed trail signage that aligns with the District’s Trails and Destination Management Strategy.

Our Home, Our Story Youth Video Project

Youth will create a video series featuring local Elders and community members, sharing stories of culture, history, and Tumbler Ridge’s landscapes.

The District of Chetwynd will allocate Hope Truck funds toward the development of a new Rotary Track & Field space that supports youth, families, and the broader community through accessible and inclusive recreation.
